Renming was born in Jiujiang, China. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Nankai University in Tianjin, China. In his undergraduate career, he mainly studied organic methodology under the guidance of Dr. Da-Zhen Xu. In 2019, he joined Dr. Gary Molander’s group as a visiting scholar studying photochemistry at UPenn. After graduation, he took a gap year in Dr. Peng Chen’s group doing chemical biology related research at Peking University. In 2021, he went back to Penn and joined the Matthews group to pursue a PhD degree. In his spare time, he enjoys playing guitar, basketball and board games.
