Kwan Ho (Kwan) received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Chemistry at Inha University, South Korea, in 2014 and 2016, respectively, where he worked with Dr. Keun-Hyeung Lee on developing peptide-based fluorescent sensors to detect metal ions and anions. In the Fall of 2021, Kwan earned his PhD in Chemistry at the Pennsylvania State University. During his doctoral studies, he studied on the folding states of ALS-associated RNA-binding proteins in nuclear bodies by developing and using fluorescence imaging methods under the guidance of Dr. Xin Zhang. In January 2022, Kwan joined the Matthews lab as a postdoctoral researcher, where he is engaged in the development of enzyme inhibitors and imaging applications using activity-based protein profiling technologies. Besides science, Kwan enjoys visiting parks, nature walks and being outdoors.
